Slipknot – Re-releasing Iowa
To mark ten years since it’s original release Slipknot’s second album ‘Iowa’ is being made into a anniversary editon and will be re-released on 31st October.
Available as two CDs, the first will feature the original album with a bonus track ‘My Plague (New Abuse Mix)’ and the second will be their full live set from their 2001 London Arena show.

Slipknot at Sonisphere
During their headlining set at this year’s Sonisphere festival Slipknot paid tribute to their late bassist Paul Gray. The video can be seen below:
In other news Foo Fighters were joined on stage by Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor for a rendition of Tie Your Mother Down at the iTunes festival on Monday night.
Velvet Revolver rumours
Rumours have arisen over whether Corey Taylor is to join Velvet Revolver as their singer.
The story on NME.com said that “The singer has refused to rule out the vacant post.”
The group said that they had found their singer last year but are yet to reveal who Scott Weiland’s replacement is.
Surely if Corey joined then all the attention will be about him rather than the group as a whole? Corey’s Slipknot fame will bring the focus away from Velvet Revolver and all they have achieved prior to Scott’s departure, they need a relatively new and unknown singer I feel for Velvet Revolver to work.
But until the actual singer is revealed i’m sure various other high-profile singers will be speculated about.
