Korn defend dubstep album

November 29, 2011 at 8:34 pm (Music News) (, , , , , )

Korn’s forthcoming dubstep inspired album ‘The Path Of Totality’ has caused Jonathan Davis to speak out and defend their decision to work with dubstep giants Skrillex and Noisia. As the frontman stated on Billboard’s website: “old-school metalheads are not open to change” eventhough Korn feel that they “…were dubstep before there was dubstep”.

Basically Korn saying if you don’t like it then they don’t give a rat’s arse as you can’t please everyone. Read the full story and how the collaboration came about here.

‘The Path Of Totality’ is out this Monday.

Placebo – To Start Work On New Album Next Year

November 22, 2011 at 10:57 pm (Music News) (, , , , )

Literally the best news of the year….Placebo are set to return to the studio to record a new album next year!

It follows a two year tour that saw them start in December 2008 playing in 44 countries with 143 shows, all ending at Brixton Academy on the 28th September 2010. A show that made it to the newly released dvd ‘We Come In Pieces’.

Speaking to Billboard.com Stefan Olsdal revealed that the band are still recovering and will start as soon as Brian and co. are properly rested. He stated: “The shape and sound of the next album will be decided when we get back together. I suppose once     we came off the road it was kind of hard to plug in a distorted guitar again, because we’d done that every night for the best part of two years.”
