Axl Rose vs Slash (again)

February 8, 2011 at 7:36 pm (Music News) (, , , )

Since a flippant comment from Slash emerged online last week about him considering a reunion with Axl Rose, if he apologised, speculation has been going crazy that Guns N’ Roses are getting back together.

The amount of times Slash has been asked that question ‘So would you ever get join Axl again in Guns N’ Roses?’ is ridiculous and is beginning to wear thin; seen as though his answer has always been no. So the one time he says ‘if Axl apologies then maybe’, the music websites start jumping on the bandwagon and start announcing that a reunion is on the cards.

Now Axl has responded in his usual big-headed way: “Contrary to anyone’s claims there are no concrete plans nor were there ever for a tour, a relaunch or sponsors (n’ certainly not to replace anyone in the band) beyond a collection of random ideas thrown out by various individuals w/out any real foundation or negotiations in place other than our prior involvements (which wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to put together).”

If you actually read the story then you soon release this is music journalists clutching at straws and writing a story with no real substance behind it. Either that or a journalist knowing it wouldn’t be long before Axl opened his mouth and the feud between the singer and Slash would continue once again.

When asked would he unite if the singer phoned and apologised Slash actually said: “All things considered, that would be a call I would be surprised to get. If that really happened, I would have to clean out my junk drawer, too, but I don’t see it happening.

“But if it did happen, I would do whatever it takes to at least have a conversation about it.”

Where in Slash’s response was the confirmation that Guns N’ Roses would come back with the original line-up?

It’s speculation gone mad!

If I were God I would make it so that the current GN’R will tour the USA in the summer, play Rock In Rio, put out a reissue/new record at the end of this year and tour until 2012.

Meanwhile, Slash will finish his current tour, go back into the studio, put out his next solo record in early 2012 as promised and tour again until the end of the year. Then a reunion could happen in late 2012 at the RHOF followed by an appearance on Vh1 classic in early 2013 and a stadium world tour until 2014.

sadly, none of this will ever happen so we’ll just have to make due with what we get and enjoy it 🙂
