This week’s music news (15th – 21st)

This week has all been about the unstoppable Lady Gaga. Not only has she grabbed the number one single for ‘Telephone’ but also the number one album spot with ‘The Fame’ which has been in the charts now for 62 weeks! Just a shame her ex-boyfriend/producer is sueing her for a reported $35million. He claims he is owed shares of 20% after helping her re-invent her sound and her image. More can be read here.

Jack White has also been grabbing attention from the music world by releasing ‘Under Great Northern Lights’ , a DVD and CD combo of The White Stripes live on their 2007 Canadian tour, recording a top secret song with Jay-Z and defending fellow band member Meg’s drumming skills.

Elsewhere a rare recording of a Led Zeppelin gig at Ipswich, in 1971, has been found at a car boot sale. The cd is a recording of the whole concert and features songs such as ‘Immigrant Song, ‘Whole Lotta Love’ and ‘Stairway to Heaven’. It is unknown how many of these cd’s were made as no official copy was ever released, only parts of it patched together. I think the man who brought this rarity for £2 is laughing his way to the bank.

I heard about her geting sued. How bitter and twisted of her ex. He’s put none of the hard work Gaga has put in to making her career massive, mainly because of her as a personality. What an idiot.

Exactly, it’s her singing and working her arse off touring and creating the hype surrounding her.
