How new is new?

The new artists coming onto the music scene how new are they really? When you strip back their sound, once the hype has died down and you look at their image; to what extent are they just a reincarnation of a previous band or artist?

Marina and the Diamonds being compared to Kate Bush is a prime example of this.

And the copying of songs and badly at that.  Katherine Jenkins covering ‘Bring Me To Life’ by Evanescence who ever told her that was a good idea deserves to walk into a door.

Florence and the Machine as much as i love you why did you copy ‘You’ve got the love’? It was a classic song, classic at the time and was still classic now before you went and stamped all over it

Florence stick to your own songs you will never be able to beat this.

Is there any sound left that hasn’t already been done?  Full credit to new bands trying to bring something different to the table but at the end of the day they are just an old sound with a new name.

Florence and the Macine cover of ‘You’ve got the love’ actually makes me want to cry.

Cry in a good way or cry in a bad way.?

The song is ok but it annoys me when people think it was her song and they dont know the original.

The originals can be forgotten in this way and that is a sad state of affairs.
